Chapter 1 / 18

  1. 2007

A domain name and a hunch

Android isn't yet in French people's pockets when Ulrich Rozier and Baptiste Michaud register a domain name that will become iconic. The bet: an open operating system will change phones... and the world. No website covers it yet: hence FrAndroid.

  2. 2010

    Humanoid is born

The blog has become a media brand, and publishing it takes a company: Humanoid. The name already says it all: covering breakthrough technology while keeping it human.

  3. 2012

    First offices, in Montrouge

The team moves into its first premises (nickname: the garage, owing to its relative lack of daylight). Side projects are launched (FraWin, FraBada and LesArdoises, run by... Julien Cadot, who will join the adventure a few years later).

  4. 2013

    A newsroom, an editor-in-chief

FrAndroid hires its first editor-in-chief, Laure Renouard. Editorial line, editorial meetings, high standards: the operation turns professional and readers follow.

  5. 2014

    Number 6

A move into the premises that came to symbolise the group's teenage years. An address in a former flat, meeting spaces, the first break room... and, at last, room to grow!

  6. 2015

    Numerama joins the group

Humanoid acquires the iconic Numerama with one goal: to make it France's go-to source on the future and innovation. Two media brands, two tones, one home. Julien takes the helm of the project.

  7. 2017

    Humanoid xp, the agency

This is it: Humanoid is now unmissable, and brands want to reach our audience. We set up an in-house agency producing content and bespoke campaigns to our editorial standards. Rémy Pivois takes the helm.

  8. 2018

    We're moving (300 metres away)

Strong growth, a wave of hires, a push into video... it's time to move: we leave our iconic offices at 6 boulevard Saint-Denis for… 300 metres down the road, at 137 boulevard de Sébastopol. Yes, we're rather fond of our neighbourhood.

  9. 2019

    FrAndroid becomes Frandroid

A radical change of identity and editorial line: the media brand for Android enthusiasts becomes the go-to source to get informed, compare and buy wisely. The big A retires.

  10. 2020

    Ten million

Numerama passes the 10 million unique visitors mark. In lockdown, the French need to understand the digital world that shapes their lives: the 2015 bet pays off.

  11. 2021

    Numerama gets a makeover

New look, new in-house technical platform, new sections. The promise? Fast, accessible sites, built for reading, designed and hosted by our tech teams.

  12. 2022

    Humanoid joins EBRA

Regional press group EBRA welcomes Humanoid as its digital pure player. Editorial independence preserved, resources strengthened, ambition intact.

  13. 2023

    Survoltés and Numerama+

Frandroid launches Survoltés, its electric mobility super-section, cementing Humanoid's position as the leader on the subject in France. Numerama launches its premium offering: ad-free, AI-boosted, with exclusive newsletters.

  14. 2024

    Lemon and the studio

Service comparison tools and telecoms statistics: with Lemon, the group completes its range of reader services, from information to decision. At the same time, Humanoid builds its second video studio, designed for live streams.

  15. 2025

    Orange Tech

Frandroid and Numerama power Orange Tech, a brand-new technology channel on Orange.fr. Our newsrooms can be read and watched on one of the most visited portals in France.

  16. 2026

    Clubic joins Humanoid

Clubic, a long-standing website, joins Humanoid, allowing the group to claim France's largest tech media audience, both on the web and on social media. Clubic's Lyon roots fit neatly with the EBRA group's vision.
